Business communications for SpaceNet AG

WORDUP PR has been responsible for SpaceNet AG’s business communications since May 2024. The Munich-based internet service provider supports IT managers and managing directors in building strong and resilient corporate IT, operating it with high performance and reliability, and further developing it strategically.

One focus is on consulting and implementing IT security solutions and business continuity management. SpaceNet offers companies managed IT services, individual support for non-standard applications, 7×24 service, personal advice and secure cloud services such as the collaboration tool Zamadama and the video conferencing system VCT.

SpaceNet was founded in 1993 by current board member Sebastian von Bomhard, making it one of the Internet pioneers. The Munich company has over 120 employees. SpaceNet supports around 1,200 companies such as Antenne Bayern and the Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV). SpaceNet AG has been involved in network policy for many years and was most recently successful with its six-year lawsuit against the controversial data retention. In the fall of 2022, the European Court of Justice overturned the unfounded and comprehensive data retention in its much-noticed “SpaceNet ruling”. The SpaceNet family of companies includes brück IT GmbH, a system house specializing in services and software for lawyers. SpaceNet AG operates its cloud and IT services in several redundant high-security data centers in Munich.

With this mandate, WORDUP PR uses its extensive expertise in the IT sector, which led to extensive consulting contracts, especially in the early years, including for the IT market leaders NetApp, American Power Conversion, TechData and simpliVity. With a large number of customers in the financial services and fintech sectors, WORDUP subsequently used this expertise very successfully in this emerging technology market segment, for example for payconiq, Payhawk and the Bankhaus August Lenz (Banco Mediolanum). The focus of the consulting services for Spacenet AG will be on anchoring in relevant business media and in the trade association landscape.
