IAA 2021 goes Munich
Just over a year ago, the German automotive industry was not in good shape. Massive challenges such as the increasing trend towards e-mobility, constantly growing pressure from environmental associations and, last but not least, the Corona crisis had presented manufacturers and suppliers with problems that were difficult to solve. In the meantime, however, it looks as if the large German manufacturers have successfully tackled the urgently needed course – and brought about a turnaround.
Successful e-cars from Germany
The Munich-based manufacturer BMW was able to report record sales in the first quarter of 2021, which even exceeded the sales of the record year 2019. At Daimler, too, sales figures shot up this year. Part of the rise in new registrations is due to the increased demand for electric vehicles, of which German automobile manufacturers now have many different models on offer. Further innovations are expected this year. The Volkswagen Group, which also includes the Audi brand, is now even the European market leader when measured by the number of registrations of all-electric vehicles. The sharp rise in manufacturers’ sales after the crisis year 2020 prove that the industry has positioned itself for the future and knows how to meet customer requirements despite the ongoing pandemic.
IAA this year in Munich
The change in an entire industry remains exciting to watch. As the most important industry get-together, the International Motor Show (IAA) will take place for the first time in Munich this year from September 7th to 12th – an opportunity for PR activities (Automotive Public Relations) that are intended to achieve the greatest possible impact. It was no coincidence that Munich was chosen, on the contrary – with BMW and Audi in Ingolstadt, two major brands in the industry have their headquarters nearby. Munich also has an exceptionally good transport infrastructure and excellent expertise in organizing large events such as the Oktoberfest. As a technology and strong industrial location, the city is a leading innovation hub in Germany with a uniquely broad mix of industries. The city has thus prevailed over its competitors Berlin and Hamburg.
The Munich PR agency WORDUP PR has extensive experience in PR consulting related to the automotive industry, such as the long-term mandates for the Schlemmer Group (automotive supplier in Aschheim near Munich with more than 3,000 employees) and TWS Partners AG (game theory expert for purchasing negotiations) prove. With extensive technology know-how and many years of experience in event and press work in the context of international trade fairs and conferences, WORDUP is a reliable partner for the mega event in Munich in autumn: the IAA.
